Visiting for the First Time? Visiting a club is an exciting first step in reaching your goals. There’s no need to feel pressure to participate at your first club meeting – you can simply observe if you wish. And since every club is unique, it’s OK to visit several clubs before you decide to join the right club for you. Have a great first meeting!

Parking: Metered parking is available in the Hawaii State Capitol's basement level garage. You can enter the garage from Miller Street.
Additional metered parking is available in the lot Mauka of the Queen Liliuokalani Building, which is accessible by taking the long "driveway" from Punchbowl Street, directly across from Queens Hospital.

Membership Qualifications: The club is open to everyone 18 years old or older.
Roles + Scripts: In order to maximize our meeting time, and give you the most opportunity to grow as a public speaker and leader, we’ve developed a meeting format and “functionary” roles that will enable many club members to participate in each meeting.

Roles + Scripts: In order to maximize our meeting time, and give you the most opportunity to grow as a public speaker and leader, we’ve developed a meeting format and “functionary” roles that will enable many club members to participate in each meeting.
Functionary roles include:
- Toastmasters of the Day: The Toastmaster is a meeting's director and host.
Taking on this role improves organizational skills, time management skills and public speaking skills. This role also improves observational and listening skills - Grammarian/Ah Counter: The Grammarian helps all club members improve their grammar and vocabulary. As an “Ah-Counter” this person will also note any overused words or filler sounds used as a crutch by anyone who speaks during the meeting.
Taking on this role improves vocabulary, grammar, critical listening skills and evaluation skills - Timer: Responsible for monitoring the time of meeting segments and speakers.
Taking on this role improves time management skills - Table Topics Host: Helps members develop their ability to organize their thoughts quickly and respond to an impromptu question or topic.
Taking on this role improves confidence and impromptu public speaking skills. - General Evaluator: Evaluates everything the quality of the club meeting.
